Eddie was kind enough to share some images from the Elvis Presley Birthplace. The EPB includes the house where Elvis was born, a museum, and a park dedicated to the King of Rock and Roll.
Vernon Presley (along with his brother Vester and father Jesse) built the house in late 1934 in anticipation of his impending offspring. Gladys Presley delivered Elvis Aaron Presley and Jessie Garon Presley (his stillborn twin brother) in this tiny two-room house on January 8, 1935. The family only lived here a few years before they lost the home following Vernon’s conviction for altering a check.
The site also features a museum, a chapel, and a statue of “Elvis at 13” by sculptor Michiel Van der Sommen. (The monkey in Elvis’ hand is Eddie’s travel companion 🙂 )
