Sign, Sign, Everywhere A Sign
Sign, Sign, Everywhere A Sign
Here are a few signs that I “collected” during rides last summer. While they might not warrant individual posts*, they definitely deserve their time in the spotlight.
Dura-Fit Cover Incorporated – 3800 Derry Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
A very cool sign … and they are still in business!
I passed the Doris Berry Shop while attending a festival in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. I simply ADORE that font! The shop, which features clothing for women & children, opened in 1942 and is currently operated by Doris’ son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters.
The Adams & Bright Pharmacy – State Street, Hamburg, Pennsylvania. A great federal-style building with a marble facade and stained glass awning. The A&B has been in business since 1929.
The Tops Bar & Restaurant: Though I’m not so crazy about the more modern white and red insert … the main neon sign is way-cool!
Fraternal Order of Moose #523 – South Third Street, Hamburg, Pennsylvania.
* The Tops may get its own post someday when I go inside and check the restaurant out 🙂
Love these…especially the MOOSE!
You really captured a moment with that pharmacy photo- so many interesting people (and it’s a cool sign, too).
You know, Tanya, it’s funny (and in retrospect I missed a good companion photo) … I took that photo during a festival and while the pharmacy seemed to be the “hang out” for older folks; the pizza parlor across the street had a mirror image of teenagers in front of the pizza parlor.
That would have been fantastic – such a great image of how some things, despite Wii’s and Facebook and whatever, the teenagers are still at the pizza place and the old folks are hanging out at the pharmacy- that’s probably been going on in that town for generations 🙂
