Kristy’s Whistle StopI was out wandering around this afternoon and I thought that I’d stop and show you one of my favorite places: Kristy’s Whistle Stop in Enola, Pennsylvania. Kristy’s has been around since at least the 1960s (under several different names, I believe).
I love the sorta’ wacky wedge-shaped building. The interior has been remodeled over the years and doesn’t retain many original features; but you have to LOVE the vintage arrow sign with its retro-fitted shiny chrome train whistle. You’ll find several businesses with railroad-related themes along this stretch of RTS 11/15 due to the nearby Enola Rail Yard (once the world’s largest freight yard)
They have great food — and even better ice cream. Try one of their “Hurricanes” (similar to a DQ Blizzard … only much better! Kristy’s hours are seasonal; so be sure to check their website for current operating hours before you visit.

Looks like a fun place to stop for some ice cream.
It sure is!
