Mayberry Station
Fancy Gap, Virginia
submitted by wendyvee
Mayberry Station is located just off Interstate 77 in Virginia at Exit 8 (Fancy Gap Exit).
They serve a number of dishes: burgers, subs, sandwiches, polish sausage, pork chop sandwiches, hot dogs, and milk shakes. Good Tacky Fun!!
John and I were on our way home from Savannah, Georgia . . . it was becoming colder and darker so we pulled off at the first exit that had a hotel. The Mayberry Diner was open late that night so we stopped in for a late dinner. The man behind the counter could have been the model for Goober, if he had been a little older. It’s an little old supermarket converted into a restaurant. Every surface of the wall is plastered with Andy Griffith newsclippings and memorobilia. There is even a Mayberry-style police car out front
