Sadly, the Highway 50 Shoe Tree is no more. Vandals chopped the tree down over the 2010/2011 New Year’s holiday weekend.

This Shoe Tree is on Highway 50 east of Fallon – near Middlegate, Nevada. You can’t miss this tree. Full of shoes and many more “ripe” ones laying on the ground below.

I’ve seen pictures of shoe trees around the ‘Net, but I’ve never seen one in person. Hmmm, maybe I should start one in my front yard. The neighbors won’t mind, right?

     I saw this type of tree coming back from Reno, NV on July 11th. It was on the hwy going to Susanville, Ca.
