Runner says:
I finally got a chance to ride south of Houston to pick up the aforementioned photo of a tacky tourist attraction in Wharton Texas.

It’s the old Tee Pee Motel, in the process of being restored. It didn’t look to be open yet, but the tee pees were all new, and the drive had just been freshly paved so it was blocked off. Last time I was by here was about 10 years ago and the place was derelict and closed down. The little tee pees were very faded, with peeling paint and chunks of missing stucco.

It was rescued in 2002 and is being restored.
