Mifflinburg Christkindl Market
Mifflinburg Christkindl Market
Market Street (and vicinity)
Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania
Apparently, 2010 is my year for stalking “Santa arrivals”. I started last week watching Santa arrive by boat in Boiling Springs — and I ended the week watching him arrive on horseback at the Christkindl Market in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania.
Though smaller than some of the Christkindl Markets across the country, Mifflinburg’s market is large enough to make the trip worthwhile and small enough to avoid the hassle of a large crowd. The market extends for several blocks and each “shop” is housed in little wooden sheds that line both sides of the street. The quality of goods was wonderful (without breaking the bank in most cases) and there is a nice variety of traditional German foods to tempt your taste-buds.
Admission is on the honor system and includes the market and entertainment. If you find yourself near Mifflinburg on the second weekend in December … don’t miss the market!
Thursday night was Santa’s unique arrival!

Oh that looks just adorable! Did you have any strudel? I’m envious of all of your Christmas posts, but hoping to get myself up to Bethlehem this weekend to soak up some holiday spirit. Thanks for the inspiration!
I did! I had the most wonderful cherry strudel! I even brought some home for “Mr. Grinch Who Stole Roadside” (who didn’t come with me that night).
