On my recent quick visit to Rockville, I accidentally found The Museum of Obsolete Technology. I did visit a “wonder” deliberately that day that has been on my to-do list for awhile, though. I would rather have visited it on my motorcycle; but it was about 15F that day and I was on the way back from a business meeting – so that wouldn’t have been very practical.
The Earthoid water tower stands at the edge of the parking lot behind the Germantown Campus of Montgomery College. It was originally painted in 1980 by artist Peter Freudenberg and was repainted in 2011. By the way, Peter Freudenberg was also the artist for the Peachoid Water Tower in Gaffney, South Carolina which has also been featured on RoadsideWonders. So, the next time that you attend Trivia Night and need someone who can name multiple water towers painted by the same artist … I’m your girl 🙂
Not to be outdone by the normal “Bruiser the Cruiser” cameo … Petey the PT Cruiser stuck his snout in the photo below 🙂

Nice one! The snout photobomb was great!
I was going to crop that part out … but Petey needs to get me where I’m going and I don’t want to piss him off 🙂
How cool! I’ve never heard of this.
That is totally, bizarrely cool.
