I was recently in Hagerstown, Maryland and found this “wonder” completely by happenstance. Aptly named The Mural of Unusual Size, these former industrial buildings are the canvas for a giant and splashy mural by artist Alex Brewer (a.k.a Hense).
This particular mural is one of those things which, perhaps, are best experienced in person. I’ve noticed that even professional photographs online do not do it justice. It was completed for the Hagerstown Cultural Trail in May of 2017.

Those before-and-after photos truly show how artwork can transform an everyday setting from meh to marvelous. We need these kinds of opportunities for artists and we need architectural embellishments like this to inspire us all. Great find!
