Mayberry Station
Mayberry Station
Fancy Gap, Virginia

Mayberry Station is located just off Interstate 77 in Virginia at Exit 8 (Fancy Gap Exit). They serve a number of dishes: burgers, subs, sandwiches, polish sausage, pork chop sandwiches, hot dogs, and milk shakes. Good Tacky Fun!!
John and I were on our way home from Savannah, Georgia . . . it was becoming colder and darker so we pulled off at the first exit that had a hotel. The Mayberry Diner was open late that night so we stopped in for a late dinner. The man behind the counter could have been the model for Goober, if he had been a little older.
Mayberry Station is in the most adorable little former supermarket. Every surface of the wall is plastered with Andy Griffith news-clippings and memorabilia.
There’s even a Mayberry-style police car out front 🙂

Mayberry Station has had hard times, but Johnny is still there making a great Mayberry-style porkchop sandwich! All his food is good. Pecan pie is homemade and wonderful.
Glad to hear that they’re still holding on in this economy. It’s a great little place 🙂
