Evergreen Cemetery
I’ve been to Gettysburg dozens of times, but somehow I missed featuring the Gettysburg Women’s Memorial. It was sculpted by Ron Tunison and dedicated in 2002.
To find the Elizabeth Masser Thorn statue, drive through the cemetery gatehouse and you will see her to your immediate left. There are no nearby parking spaces, but one can easily park on the lane nearest her without doing damage to the cemetery or blocking traffic. Her story is heart-wrenching.
